"You've got two halves of coconut and you're banging them together"

I have now achieved a small life goal - being involved in setting a pointless world record!

Pointless, stupid, to some this may be the case? But for me it was fantastic, hilarious and incredibly silly! It was all to promote the West End production of the Monty Python musical, Spamalot. Based loosely on the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot (which I will be seeing on May 2nd) promoters set the world record for the largest assembled "coconut orchestra" in the world. When I say coconut orchestra I mean people clipity clopping along to the tune of the best known Python tune Always Look on the Bright Side of Life.
The record was set in New York when the Broadway production of Spamalot conducted a similar event and managed a mere 1789 attendees. In Trafalgar Square we amassed more than triple that number with a final offcial count of 5,567 pairs of coconuts drumming away! It was so much fun to be there and be part of it all. It was a fantastic event, everyone had a smashing time and it was all done on St. George's Day.
Attending this event with me were my sister (see earlier photo) and (from left to right) our friend Will, cousins Luke (me in the middle!) and Ellie, and my friend Leo.

Afterwards we went off to GBK (Gourmet Burger Kitchen - yes, they have them over this side of the planet!) for a scrummy meal and then ice cream in Leicester Square. Good times!
