Christmas in France

This year it was decided to celebrate Christmas in France with my Mum's side of the family. I'm not entirely sure why but I'm not complaining! So a farmhouse/cottage/gite thing was hired and 15 of us flew to southern France near the Spanish border.

I flew down with my sister, Elizabeth, and her boyfriend, Tim. We arrived to a beautiful sunset that was a sign of the weather to come.
Our accomodation was a nice, big old farmhouse that had been modernised with all the mod' cons' including a swimming pool that it wasn't quite warm enough to use.As well as opening presents, eating vast quantities of baguette and croissant and drinking red wine we went out to a few places nearby. Our first visit was across the border into Figueres in Spain to see the Salvador Dali Museum. Now, I don't know much about art but the museum was really cool! Dali was one weird guy. In case you don't know who Dali was he was the guy who did these pieces of art:
Another day trip was to see a huge coastal fortress and walled harbour which was really nice.
On our last day everyone else left in the morning, so Elizabeth, Tim and I were free to explore Perpignan, where we flew in and out of.
