The Summer

Right, I've not posted anything for ages so a quick update all round would probably be a good idea.

Major events so far have been: General debarcle with my freight, Flat hunting in Hams, Natasha's 21st, a weekend on the Coramandal and getting my results back from Uni.

The Frieght Debarcle
I shipped 10 boxes of my stuff up to Auckland from Christchurch. It was supposed to arrive the Wednesday after I left (I left on Thursday 11th November) - at least that's what the guy said. He also said that if not on that day then definately within 5-10 working days. So I phoned on Friday 19th to find out what was happening. Turns out they were just about to leave Christchurch! Anyway, long story short, they finally got here on Saturday 27th which was not even a "working day", via a different company and well past their 5-10 working days rubbish. And after all that they've gone and damaged my computer in the process so it appears that the graphics card is dead. NEVER USE GRACE REMOVALS!! THEY'RE USELESS!!

Flat Hunting
I've found a flat to live in next year. It's what I would descride as the upper end of the "student flat" quality scale. It's situated 15mins walk from town (where I will be working) and is only $82.50 per week (the benifits of not paying for accomodation in Auckland!). I'll be flatting with two girls (approx 19 years old) who were both at Waikato Uni last year. One, Chloe, is taking a year off and intends to work full time and the other is continuing her degree. They're still looking for a fourth flatmate to fill the place.

Natasha's 21st
This was awesome. Held at her parents house way out towards Murawai (for those that know Auckland) they hired a Marque and we had dinner served to us and entertainment from a couple of bands and things. It's probably more than most people can afford for their wedding! However, this was also a celebration of her older brother graduating as a vet and a celebration of 25 years owning their boat. (http://www.sorenlarson.co.nz). Finally crashed into bed at about 3:30am after having and absolutely fantastic evening! Good times!

Coromandal
Went down for a weekend with the guys, it rained or showered almost the entire time but was still great fun. Heaps of good mates and beer all round. Still managed to go swimming and played soccer etc. in between the showers as well as 5 sets of tennis (it was double, we keep switching partners and I was on the losing team for every set, still had fun though). Actually, now that I think about it I lost pretty much every competition we had that weekend. I think I won a few rounds of cards and one board game. But that was it. Still had a great time though!

Uni Results
Despite changing my address online, I, like many others, had my results sent to the wrong address - i.e. not in Auckland. However, fortunately my flatmate was still in Chch and opened my results for me (at my request) and phoned me up to let me know how I'd done. It turns out that I did quite a bit better than expected with a final GPA for the year of 6.3 (6.0 is a B+ average, 7.0 is an A- average) which means that I've been awarded second class honours, first division (a 2:1) which was what I was hoping to get. Having got my degree and achieved my goal (to get a 2:1) I'm feeling mighty chuffed!! Go me!

Right, that's all I can be bothered writing just now and definately more than anyone can be bothered reading! Bye.
